I was more organized at that time and I numbered each individual and in most cases where they were from. We were a close knit group---our first experience in the army ---young---unfortunately to the best of my knowledge not one of them ended up being assigned as Supply Cpl. nor as a Supply Sgt. They all ended up as combat infantrymen and we were not properly trained as such. There follows the names of my first army associates.

Johnson but I don't know where he is.

Lt. Lifton was in charge of our platoon. He was assisted by Sgt. Budge and Cpl. Dwyer. Sgt Budge I~ved on the first floor of the barracks. Cpl Dwyer had a room at the end of the second floor above the latrines and showers. I was assigned to the second floor. Lt Likon must have been moderately well to do as he had attended the Olympics in Germany in 1936. He was strict and let us know he was in charge. In fact I recall on one ocassion he was making his point and he sa~d, ~ If I say the moon is made out of green cheese, then by GAUD it is made out of green cheese !" Sgt. Budge was the one that wasn't too pleased that I would leave the Infantry and transfer into the A`r Corps.
