This is a 135 page laser printed account of James W. Taylor's WWII experiences from May 1943 when he received his draft notice through March 1946 when he was discharged. This covers his induction into the infantry, transfer into the air Corps, becoming a Radio Operator, missions with the 344th Bomb Group and post VE Day service in Germany This is a very high quality document that contains many high quality, captioned photos. Beginning with page 107 is an appendix titled "Special Orders; Passes; News reports; Odds and Ends." The first 102 pages are provided progressively page by page, as OCR scans. PDF files of his entire document are also available. Two type fonts have been used in this account; one provides excellent OCR scans with very few of the typical OCR typos. However, the other is an obscure font which does not provide very good OCR scans. The pages that use this second font are provided both as OCR scans and graphic scans. Photos are placed with the OCR scans using the same format as the original document but are blanked out in the graphic scans.
