Entered the U. S. Army 29 June 1942

Trained as Aircraft Armorer- Buckley Field, Denver, Colorado from 15 July to late September 1942 Arrived Fort Myers, Florida evening 9 Oct 1042. Processed to the 481st Squadron of the 336th Bomb Armament Group, 10 Oct, assigned to the Armament Section 11 October, made section clerk Made PFC at Page Field, Served at this Base then moved with Group and Squadrons to the Bombing Range, Avon Park on 10 December 1942. While on this Base made the grade of Corporal. Was on the range about a little over 10 months then moved with Group and Squadrons to MacDill Field, near Tampa, Florida on 15 October 1943. Was here but short period, a little less than 25 Days.

Moved by train to LCAAF, Lake Charles, LA arriving on 8 November 1943. Group and Squadrons Phased out late May 1944.
