This is probably the most publicized pic of a B-26.
The engine has been hit and is seen falling off, prop still spinning.
Photo taken through waist window of plane just ahead probably by Sgt. Peter J. Holmes, though several others have claimed credit.
(Toulon Harbor, France, August 20,1944,
Plane #50, 17th Bomb Group. Two survivors: Bob McCluskey & George L. Moscovis)

Caption with this photo was incorrect. It read:
"
Bob McCluskey, shot down over Toulon August 20, 1944, wearing cast put on at German Field Hospital. Liberated by French within two weeks and returned to Squadron."
This individual is almost certainly George L. Moscovis
